Instructions: Cross stitch over one thread using one strand of floss.
Work star using one ply of silk floss, working vertical and horizontal stitches first and then diagonal stitches. Work straight stitches on top of the vertical and horizontal silk stitches using one strand 021. Work straight stitches on top of the longest stitch in the four sets of diagonal stitches with one strand 021.
Work satin stitches using two strands of floss. Finishing Materials & Instructions • Pellon fusible interfacing • Buckram • Complementary silk fabric • 2mm bright gold metallic gold trim • 30 gold 3/8" jingle bells • Gold sewing thread • 1/4"- wide ribbon for hanger • Craft glue Press stitched piece from reverse side. Measure 1" beyond stitching at top and sides, and 13/4" from bottom. Cut out linen in a triangle shape.
Using stitched piece as template, cut silk fabric 1/4" larger on all sides for backing.
Using stitched piece as a template, cut interfacing and buckram 1/4" smaller on all sides.
Center interfacing over stitched piece on reverse side; fuse according to manufacturer's instructions. Place buckram on top of interfacing and fold edges of stitched piece over buckram, mitering corners; press.
Place backing and fused stitched piece wrong sides together. Use a ladder stitch with sewing thread to join for a flat finish.
Glue gold metallic trim around edges.
Thread five jingle bells on sewing thread. Place ribbon in center and make a loop, leaving 21/2" ends below bells. Referring to photo throughout, gather bells into a ball, catching ribbon inside, and knot thread. Sew to top of triangle.
Thread 23 jingle bells onto sewing thread. Referring to photo, lay bells at bottom of ornament and sew into place.
