• 14" x 14" piece 28- count antique white evenweave linen from Zweigart®* • One skein each DMC® or Sullivans®

Instructions: Using two strands of floss throughout, backstitch the outlines of the central diamond motifs over four threads to create a smooth outline.
Using two strands of floss, wrap backstitches on outside of diamonds to create a cord effect.
Stitch central diamond motifs, adding cross-stitch flowers and filler patterns.
Work the 996/45315 background pattern and the four squares.
Using two strands of floss, work border and cross-stitch band around the complete pattern. Long stitches are worked over six threads. Backstitch around the outer border using one strand 3891/45314 after all cross stitches have been worked.
Add beads using cross stitches of complementary floss. Work French knots, using two strands of floss and wrapping floss once around needle.
Finishing Materials & Instructions
• 10" square fusible stabilizer • Four 11/4" x 12" pieces coordinating
solid fabric • 161/2" x 161/2" piece (Back), two 31/2" x 91/2" pieces (Side Border Strips), and two 31/2" x 161/2" pieces ( Top/Bottom Border Strips) coordinating print fabric • 16" pillow form • Sewing machine (optional)
Press stitched piece from reverse side, straightening as much as possible. Attach fusible stabilizer to reverse side of stitched piece following manufacturer's instructions. With the design centered, trim to 91/2" square.
Fold the solid fabric strips in half with wrong sides together; press. Using 1/4" seam allowance throughout, sew two strips to opposite sides of stitched piece along raw edges and then trim even with stitched piece. Pin remaining two strips along remaining two sides. Fold ends 90 degrees to miter corners; pin and sew both sides in place. Trim excess fabric.
Sew Side Border Strips to sides of stitched piece. Sew Top and Bottom Border Strips to stitched piece. Pin Back fabric to pieced top with right sides together. Sew around edges, leaving an 8"–10" opening along one side. Turn right side out through opening and insert pillow form. Using a hand-sewing needle and thread, blind-stitch opening closed.
