Cause of truck fire has not been determined
— The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating a May 23 vehicle fire in the 13000-block of Augustine Herman Highway.
The fire originated in the driver’s side engine compartment, according to a news release from the fire marshal.
The cause is under investigation.
The fire marshal’s office identified the vehicle as a 2002 Ford F-350 pickup truck and Alvin Miller as the owner.
Miller discovered the fire at 12:42 a.m., according to the fire marshal’s news release.
Seven volunteer firefighters from Galena answered the alarm and brought the fire under control in 30 minutes, according to the news release.
Estimated loss is $8,000 to the vehicle and $500 to contents.
