Cause of truck fire has not been de­ter­mined

— The Of­fice of the Mary­land State Fire Mar­shal is in­ves­ti­gat­ing a May 23 ve­hi­cle fire in the 13000-block of Au­gus­tine Her­man High­way.

The fire orig­i­nated in the driver’s side en­gine com­part­ment, ac­cord­ing to a news re­lease from the fire mar­shal.

The cause is un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

The fire mar­shal’s of­fice iden­ti­fied the ve­hi­cle as a 2002 Ford F-350 pickup truck and Alvin Miller as the owner.

Miller dis­cov­ered the fire at 12:42 a.m., ac­cord­ing to the fire mar­shal’s news re­lease.

Seven vol­un­teer fire­fight­ers from Galena an­swered the alarm and brought the fire un­der con­trol in 30 min­utes, ac­cord­ing to the news re­lease.

Es­ti­mated loss is $8,000 to the ve­hi­cle and $500 to con­tents.
