Ch­ester­town Po­lice

CH­ESTER­TOWN — Ron­ald An­drew Haynes, 46, Ch­ester­town, on Aug. 27, was charged with driv­ing while un­der the in­flu­ence of al­co­hol; driv­ing while im­paired by al­co­hol; speed­ing: 35 mph in a 25-mph zone; and fail­ure to drive on the right half of the road­way when re­quired.

Of­fi­cer Al­bert Pi­asecki con­ducted the traf­fic stop at 11:42 p.m. in the 100-block of Maple Av­enue.

GALENA — Mark Sung Han Nau, 37, Kennedyville, on Aug. 30, was charged with a seat belt vi­o­la­tion; fail­ure to give ad­e­quate turn sig­nal; con­sum­ing al­co­hol in a ve­hi­cle on the high­way; driv­ing while un­der the in­flu­ence of al­co­hol; and driv­ing while im­paired by al­co­hol.

He was re­leased on per­sonal re­cog­ni­zance.

Sgt. Harry A. Ket­tner con­ducted the traf­fic stop at 11:57 a.m. on state Route 313 at state Route 290.

LYNCH — Stephanie Anne Twigg, 30, Galena, on Aug. 29, was charged with pro­ject­ing a glar­ing light within 500 feet of ap­proach­ing driver; ex­ceed­ing max­i­mum speed: 65 mph in a 55-mph zone; driv­ing on sus­pended li­cense and priv­i­lege; driv­ing on a re­voked li­cense; driv­ing while un­der the in­flu­ence of al­co­hol; and driv­ing while im­paired by al­co­hol.

She was re­leased on per­sonal re­cog­ni­zance.

Po­lice re­ported that Twigg al­legedly tried to switch seats with an­other oc­cu­pant of the ve­hi­cle.

Cpl. J. Ni­cholas Wat­son con­ducted the traf­fic stop at 2:18 a.m. on state Route 213, south of state Route 561.

STILL POND — Justin Lee Rash, 24, Sudlersville, on Aug. 28, was charged with pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled dan­ger­ous sub­stance that is not mar­i­juana; pos­ses­sion of drug para­pher­na­lia; and dis­play­ing ex­pired reg­is­tra­tion plates.

He was re­leased on per­sonal re­cog­ni­zance.

Deputy David W. Nolan con­ducted the traf­fic stop at 12:14 a.m. on state Route 292 at state Route 566.

TOLCHESTER — Martha Gar­nett Wil­liams, 61, For­est Hill, on Aug. 27, was charged with driv­ing while im­paired by al­co­hol; driv­ing while un­der the in­flu­ence of al­co­hol; and driv­ing while so far im­paired by drugs or al­co­hol that she can­not drive safely.

She was re­leased on per­sonal re­cog­ni­zance.

Wil­liams al­legedly struck a mail­box in the 8000-block of Elm Road at Tolchester Road.

She also was charged with fail­ure to con­trol speed to avoid a col­li­sion; fail­ure to drive right of cen­ter; con­sum­ing al­co­hol in the ve­hi­cle; reck­less driv­ing; and neg­li­gent driv­ing.

Deputy Parker Hud­son con­ducted the traf­fic stop at 4:41 p.m.

GALENA — Po­lice seized a sus­pected con­trolled dan­ger­ous sub­stance while con­duct­ing a traf­fic stop at 3:20 p.m. Aug. 27 on Brad­ford John­son Road. The driver, iden­ti­fied as a 50-year-old Delaware woman, was very ner­vous and tried to exit the ve­hi­cle upon be­ing stopped, Cpl. Sean M. Maloney wrote in a sher­iff’s office news re­lease.

Due to “crim­i­nal in­di­ca­tors,” Cpl. Maloney re­quested a K-9 scan con­ducted by DFC G. Travis Man­ning. Po­lice found a pre­scrip­tion pill that had no mark­ings, ac­cord­ing to the news re­lease. The driver told po­lice she had a pre­scrip­tion, but that was not ver­i­fied at the scene.

The pill was sent to the Mary­land State Po­lice crime lab for anal­y­sis. Charges are pend­ing the re­sults of the lab tests.

TOLCHESTER — Steven Joseph Miller, 41, Dept­ford, N.J., on Sept. 1, was charged with driv­ing while im­paired by al­co­hol; driv­ing while un­der the in­flu­ence of al­co­hol; fail­ure to drive on the right half of the road­way; and ex­ceed­ing the max­i­mum speed: 43 mph in a 30-mph zone.

He was re­leased on per­sonal re­cog­ni­zance.

Cpl. J. Ni­cholas Wat­son con­ducted the traf­fic stop at 10:04 p.m. on Tolchester Beach Road at Bay Shore Road.

TOLCHESTER — John Samuel Far­row, 57, New Hope, Pa., on Sept. 3, was charged with driv­ing while im­paired by al­co­hol; driv­ing while un­der the in­flu­ence of al­co­hol; and ex­ceed­ing the max­i­mum speed: 46 mph in a 30-mph zone.

Cpl. J. Ni­cholas Wat­son con­ducted the traf­fic stop at 9:59 p.m on Tolchester Beach Road at Elm Road.

FAIRLEE — Randy Donel Wil­son, 35, Ch­ester­town, on Sept. 8, was trans­ported by am­bu­lance to the Univer­sity of Mary­land Shore Med­i­cal Cen­ter at Ch­ester­town for treat­ment of in­juries suf­fered in a sin­gleve­hi­cle crash.

He was treated on the scene by Emer­gency Med­i­cal Ser­vices per­son­nel be­fore be­ing taken to the hos­pi­tal, ac­cord­ing to a sher­iff’s office news re­lease.

Po­lice re­ported that the crash oc­curred at 5:03 p.m. on Great Oak Land­ing Road at Handy Point Road.

Wil­son’s ve­hi­cle — a Hyundai Elantra — struck a tree and then over­turned. The ve­hi­cle was towed from the scene by ELB Inc.
