Playscape sculpture arrives in Wilmer Park
Sculptor David Hess guides a 10-foot-tall stainless steel piece of art to its foundation in Wilmer Park on Monday afternoon. Hess’ interactive playscape sculpture “Broad Reach” includes the 10-foot-tall wave, a 20-foot-tall stainless steel sail and mounded grass-covered earth to illustrate the enduring themes of earth, water and sky. The sculpture is the first project installed as part of Chestertown’s Public Arts Master Plan. It will be dedicated 4 p.m. Oct. 14.
