Bud­get hear­ing set for April 5

— The Kent County Board of Ed­u­ca­tion has resched­uled a pub­lic hear­ing on Su­per­in­ten­dent Karen Couch’s pro­posed bud­get for Thurs­day, April 5. The hear­ing will be held at 6 p. m. at Kent County Pub­lic Schools’ cen­tral of­fice at 5608 Bound­ary Ave., Rock Hall. Couch un­veiled her pro­posed $ 27.7 mil­lion spend­ing plan at a March 12 Board of Ed­u­ca­tion meet­ing. An ini­tial pub­lic hear­ing sched­uled for March 22 was can­celed due to in­clement weather. A copy of Couch’s bud­get pre­sen­ta­tion is avail­able on the district’s Board Docs web­site: www.board­docs. com/ mabe/ kcps/ Board. nsf/ Pub­lic. It can be found at­tached to the agenda for the March 12 meet­ing. Both the Board of Ed­u­ca­tion and the Kent County Com­mis­sion­ers must ap­prove the bud­get. It will take ef­fect July 1.
