CH­ESTER­TOWN — Paula Kay (Maxim) Nor­ton, 67, of Ch­ester­town died Sun­day, Nov. 4, 2018, un­ex­pect­edly at home.

She was born in Kansas City, Kansas, on March 25, 1951, the daugh­ter of the late Mitchell and Mary Kath­leen El­liott Maxim.

She leaves be­hind her two sons Scott Nor­ton of Stevensville and Matthew Nor­ton and his wife Meghan and their chil­dren Pene­lope, William and Ed­ward, all of Bar­ring­ton, Ill. In ad­di­tion to her im­me­di­ate fam­ily, she leaves be­hind her sis­ter Re­nee Fowler of Braden­ton, Fla.; brother Craig Maxim of Whitinsville, Mass.; and the fa­ther of her chil­dren, James Nor­ton of Hull, Mass., where

she grad­u­ated high school in 1969. She was pre­de­ceased by her brother Rick Maxim of Mas­sachusetts.

Paula was ed­u­cated at UMass Amherst ma­jor­ing in English, she grad­u­ated Magna Cum Laude in 1973. She worked as a teacher, ad­ver­tis­ing con­sul­tant and free­lance writer, un­til she de­voted her life as a mother.

Paula loved gar­den­ing, read­ing, Bible study, her dog Jessie and her Chris­tian faith.

Rel­a­tives and friends are in­vited to gather from 10 a.m. to noon Thurs­day, Nov. 8, at Fel­lows, Helfen­bein and New­nam Fu­neral Home, Ch­ester­town.
