Wilderness tools are viewed as a set to complete building projects in camp, as well as hunting. The “one tool to do everything” mentality doesn’t exist to the Finns. They rely on a whole tool system that consists of a saw, puukko knife and axe of some kind. In an established camp, a larger axe is usually kept along with a larger bow saw, while a woods traveler generally favors a folding saw, smaller hatchet and a puukko. This assures the right tool for each task.
