Next Fri­day is Vol­un­teer’s day

This Fri­day, Septem­ber 8th, United Way of Tulsa will be com­mem­o­rat­ing its an­nual vol­un­teer’s day dur­ing its 26th an­niver­sary in Tulsa.

This year, the pur­pose of the day is to im­prove Archer Park, tak­ing care of the en­vi­ron­ment while teach­ing the youngest in our com­mu­nity about the im­por­tance of guard­ing pub­lic places for the ben­e­fit of the whole com­mu­nity.

If you want to be a part of this day and be­come a vol­un­teer, Archer Park is wait­ing for you this Fri­day at 9 am, when vol­un­teers will gather at the park to paint benches and clean the area un­til 3 pm.

Neigh­bors, cit­i­zens and cu­ri­ous peo­ple are wel­come to par­tic­i­pate in this year’s Vol­un­teer’s day sup­ported by City Year, ra­dio La Que Buena, Ra­dio Viva and the Ken­dall Whit­tier neigh­bor­hood as­so­ci­a­tion. This year the motto of the day is: “We do what we do so that our chil­dren can have a bet­ter world.”
