La Semana - - FRONT PAGE / PORTADA -

ENGLISH Tulsa is being called “flu city,” the Oklahoma metropolis with the most casualties related to seasonal flu.

The city has reported 10 deaths from the flu, according to a spokesperson with the Oklahoma Department of Health. 1400 people have been hospitalized in the state of Oklahoma for flu and 45 have died in different areas in the Sooner state.

Even though this flu season has more deaths than the previous year in Tulsa, in comparison with 20162017, which registered 110 deaths, the overall amount of deaths is lower.

The Health Department issued a statement asking the population of Oklahoma to be careful with the flu, to take all recommended precautions to avoid spreading the illness, such as washing their hands regularly, disinfecting public areas, and using disposable tissue when coughing or sneezing.

If you feel sick, stay at home, avoid public places such as work or school, and visit your doctor for a full recovery. (La Semana)
