Joe A’Hearn, 77, passed away Sept. 24, 2017, in Waukon, Iowa, after a lengthy bat­tle with Alzheimer’s. He served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1966. Joe was a 49year res­i­dent of Las Ve­gas. He was em­ployed at the U.S. Post Of­fice from 1968 un­til he re­tired in 2005. Joe en­joyed golf be­fore and after re­tire­ment. He was ac­tive in Al­co­holic Anony­mous for many years. Joe is sur­vived by his daugh­ter, Sandra Sommer and grand­chil­dren, Van­ina and Stanis­las, all of France; girl­friend, Merle Farmer of Las Ve­gas; si­b­lings, Jean (Dean) Preste­mon of Ames, Iowa, Mary (Bobby) Smith of Las Ve­gas, and Mike (Cari) A’Hearn of Waukon, Iowa; step­daugh­ters, Tr­ish Hoeg and Michele (Mark) Cal­lo­rina of Las Ve­gas; and nu­mer­ous nieces and neph­ews. Fu­neral Mass will be at 10:30 a. m. Satur­day, Oct. 21, at St. Pa­tricks in Waukon, Iowa.
