■ Yankees 14, Orioles 4 — At New York, rookie Gary Sanchez homered for the eighth time in nine games and drove in four runs, and Mark Teixeira and Chase Headley also went deep for New York, which moved five games over .500 for the first time this season. Manny Machado homered twice for Baltimore.

■ Indians 12, Rangers 1 — At Arlington, Texas, Corey Kluber (14-8) gave up one run and struck out seven innings for his career-best sixth straight win, and Abraham Almonte had two doubles and four RBIs as Cleveland halted a three-game skid and pulled within one game of Texas for the AL’s best record.

■ Blue Jays 15, Twins 8 — At Toronto, Russell Martin and Justin Smoak each homered and drove in five runs to help Francisco Liriano (7-12) to his first win in four starts with Toronto. Josh Donaldson homered and had three RBIs for the Blue Jays, who dealt Minnesota its eighth straight loss.

Tigers 4, Angels 2 — At Detroit, Justin Upton homered for the fourth time in five games to back Justin Verlander (14-7), who held Los Angeles to two runs on four hits and one walk and struck out eight in 7 2/3 innings in his ninth straight quality start, as Detroit won its fifth straight.

■ Mariners 3, White Sox 1 — At Chicago, Chris Sale (15-7) gave up five hits and struck out 14 in his fifth complete game of the season but was bested by Felix Hernandez (9-4) and Seattle’s bullpen. Hernandez held Chicago to one run in 7 1/3 innings as the Mariners halted a three-game skid.

■ Astros 5, Rays 4 — At Houston, Carlos Correa and Evan Gattis hit consecutiv­e home runs to lead off Houston’s ninth against Alex Colome (1-4). Correa hit Colome’s first pitch, and Gattis fought through eight pitches. Mikie Mahtook hit a go-ahead, two-out solo shot in the top of the ninth.
