Part of U.S. Highway 95 to be shut down overnight

-

A stretch of U.S. Highway 95 will be closed for overnight work Thursday as crews install digital signs that will flash information about accidents and detours, the Nevada Department of Transportation said.

Southbound U.S. 95 will close between Decatur Boulevard and Rancho Drive in downtown Las Vegas from 11 p.m. Thursday to 4 a.m. Friday, NDOT spokesman Tony Illia said. The freeway on-ramps at Decatur and Valley View boulevards will also be closed during the same time, along with the Rancho freeway exit.

The active traffic management signs are being installed as part of the $1 billion Project Neon, a 3.7-mile-long widening of Interstate 15 from the U.S. 95 interchange to Sahara Avenue.
