Golden Knights weekend on Fremont

Hockey may be new to Las Vegas, but it’s never too early to start thinking about the Stanley Cup. Fans who want to cast their eyes on the prize can check out the oldest championsh­ip trophy in profession­al sports, in person, Friday and Saturday at the Fremont Street Experience. It’s part of the National Hockey League Centennial Fan Arena, which will also include a 53-foot museum truck, a pop-up hockey rink, a virtual reality Zamboni experience­andthechan­ceto meet Golden Knights players. The event runs from 4 p.m to midnight Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, with the Knights scheduled to appear at 2 p.m. Saturday. nhl.com/fanarena
