UNLV baseball team rallies to win over San Diego State

Grant Robbins hit a go-ahead RBI double in the eighth inning to rally No. 19-ranked UNLV past No. 25 San Diego State 4-3 in a Mountain West baseball game Friday at Wilson Stadium.

Max Smith went 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI single for the Rebels (20-3, 6-1), who matched Aztecs (14-7, 4-2) with 10 hits.

UNLV softball: At Eller Media Stadium, Reina Bondi went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIS to back Janine Petmecky (12-2), who pitched a two-hitter, leading the Rebels (20-8, 3-1 Mountain West) to an 8-0 win over Utah State (10-16, 0-3).

UNLV women’s golf: At Tempe, Ariz., Mackenize Raim is tied for sixth at 2-under-par 70 in leading the Rebels to a tie for seventh after one round of the three-round, 14-team Ping/arizona State Invitation­al.

CSN baseball: At Morse Stadium, Hunter Heugly went 3-for-4 with three RBIS in the first game, and

Beau Campanna went 3-for-4 with two RBIS in the second game to help College of Southern Nevada (26-6,

8-2) sweep a Scenic West Athletic Conference doublehead­er from Salt

Lake Community College (15-10, 4-6) by scores of 8-6 and 10-2.

CSN softball: At Lady Coyote Field, Lauren Tycksen went 7-for-8 with six runs and Ashlee Snyder 5-for-6 with six RBIS to lift Salt Lake Community College (18-7, 12-2) to a SWAC doublehead­er sweep over CSN (11-13, 8-6) by scores of 17-2 and 10-2.
