HONOLULU RAIN­BOW FILM FES­TI­VAL

June 4–7, 2015; Doris Duke The­ater, 900 Kinau St. hglcf.org This year marks the 25th in­stall­ment of this LGBT film fes­ti­val, one of the long­est-run­ning and cel­e­brated fes­ti­vals, fea­tur­ing both na­tional and in­ter­na­tional films.

ARTISTS OF HAWAI‘I 2015

July 2–Oc­to­ber 25, 2015; Honolulu Mu­seum of Art, 900 S. Bere­ta­nia St. hon­olu­lu­mu­seum.org In its 61st year, this much-an­tic­i­pated bi­en­nial ju­ried show fea­tures the work of seven Hawai‘i artists and one art col­lec­tive.

MAUI PRIDE

Oc­to­ber 2–4, 2015 mauipride.org Pride Week­end on Maui cel­e­brates, en­cour­ages, and ed­u­cates all peo­ple on the pos­i­tive di­ver­sity of the LGBT com­mu­nity.

IRON­MAN WORLD CHAM­PI­ONSHIP

Oc­to­ber 15, 2015; Ha­puna Beach State Park to Mauna Lani Re­sort iron­man.com Known for its gru­el­ing com­po­nents in­clud­ing a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bi­cy­cle ride, and 26.2-mile run, the Iron­man Triathlon has been chal­leng­ing ath­letes from around the world since it kicked off in Kona in 1978.

HAWAI‘I IN­TER­NA­TIONAL FILM FES­TI­VAL

Novem­ber 12–22, 2015; var­i­ous lo­ca­tions hiff.org Es­tab­lished in 1981, the Hawai‘i In­ter­na­tional Film Fes­ti­val is ded­i­cated to the ad­vance­ment of cul­tural ex­change and me­dia aware­ness in the Pa­cific Rim, show­cas­ing an av­er­age of 150 fea­tures each fall.

HAWAI‘I FASH­ION MONTH

HONOLULU MARATHON

De­cem­ber 13, 2015; Ala Moana Blvd. to Kapi‘olani Park hon­olu­lumarathon.org Whether you are a fast run­ner or a ca­sual walker, with around 30,000 par­tic­i­pants each year, this marathon is a great ex­pe­ri­ence.

GREAT ALOHA RUN

Fe­bru­ary 15, 2016; Aloha Tower to Aloha Sta­dium great­alo­harun.com Since 1985, this 8.15-mile race at­tracts pro­fes­sional run­ners as well as par­ents with chil­dren, all tak­ing part to sup­port the lo­cal com­mu­nity.

HONOLULU AIDS WALK

April 2016 life­foun­da­tion.org Run past land­marks such as Honolulu Hale and ‘Iolani Palace dur­ing this spon­sored 3K walk or run while sup­port­ing those who live with HIV/AIDS.

LEI DAY
