Megyn Kelly and Savannah Guthrie get into a nasty fight as the tension between them escalates.

Lights, camera, tension! Megyn Kelly and Savannah Guthrie got into a huge fight during their eight-hour coverage of Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation hearing with the Senate Judiciary Committee on Sept. 27. “As the day went on, Savannah and Megyn got nastier and nastier, making little digs at each other,” an industry insider tells Life & Style. “When the live broadcast ended, the two of them exploded — accusing each other of talking over one another and interrupting!” Though another source denies there’s a rift, former Fox News superstar Megyn, 47, has struggled to make friends at NBC, where she’s the highest-paid an- chor, raking in a reported $ 23 million a year. But “Savannah is the queen of NBC,” notes the insider. “And anyone who challenges her will not win.” Megyn’s tanking TV ratings on Today’s third hour aren’t exactly helping. With rival shows Live With Kelly and Ryan consistently beating Megyn Kelly Today in viewership, NBC has had to add more popular personalities like Savannah, 46, and co-host Hoda Kotb to the morning program to help Megyn — who was voted least-liked TV media personality in a recent study — bring in a bigger audience. “She’s been a total disaster,” adds the insider, “and higher-ups at NBC are already trying to come up with a way to finally get rid of her.”

Today anchors Savannah and Megyn “unloaded on each other once the cameras stopped rolling,” a source tells Life & Style, noting that each anchor wishes the other were gone.
