At first, “I didn’t want it to be in photos, so I wore things that would cover it up,” the singer, 28, wrote. “Now, more than ever, I feel confident in who I am and what I went through.” Selena has been battling lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease, since 2013 and the medications she takes to combat symptoms have caused her weight to fluctuate. “I’ve gotten insecure,” the pop star’s admitted. “So, I’ve had to learn to have thick skin when it comes to this stuff and to understand that it doesn’t matter.” Instead, she’s focusing on the things that do, like her music and beauty brand. “Selena stopped trying to be perfect,” says an insider, “and learned to love herself again.”
