Nighttime delays expected at Rio Vista Bridge
SOLANO AND SACRAMENTO COUNTIES — The California Department of Transportation will perform preventive maintenance on the bridge deck of the Rio Vista Bridge on Highway 12 between Solano and Sacramento counties on Friday.
The work will begin at 7 p.m. Friday and is expected to be complete by 3 a.m. Saturday, weather permitting.
To ensure public and worker safety, one-way traffic controls will be in effect. Crews will alternate lane closures in both eastbound and westbound directions. This will allow one lane on the bridge to remain open during the work. Flaggers will help direct traffic.
Motorists should expect delays and allow for extra travel time.
For boat and ship traffic along the Sacramento River, vessels are required to give Caltrans staff at the Rio Vista Bridge one-hour advance notice for an opening of the bridge during the work. For more information, call 510-2864444.
