Dead pi­lot in Sonoma County crash iden­ti­fied

SONOMA — Author­i­ties have iden­ti­fied the man killed in a small plane crash in Cal­i­for­nia that also left three other peo­ple hos­pi­tal­ized, in­clud­ing two who were air­lifted to a hos­pi­tal.

The San Fran­cisco Chron­i­cle re­ports 38-year-old Wil­liam Sachs Gold­man died when the sin­gle-en­gine air­craft car­ry­ing four peo­ple crashed on Thurs­day. The plane went down about 1,000 feet from a re­gional air­port in Sonoma County.

Gold­man, an as­sis­tant pro­fes­sor at the Univer­sity of San Fran­cisco, was the grand­son of the late well-known San Fran­cisco phi­lan­thropists Richard and Rhoda Gold­man.
