On Friday at the Tokay High swimming pool, the finals for the Lodi Parks and Recreation City Championships finals were held for ages 6 to incoming high school seniors. The four city teams competing are the Seals, Dolphins, Piranhas and the Tritons competed.
The trials were held on Thursday. According to John Griffin, who oversees the Lodi Swim Club and is the Lodi High boys swimming coach, the finals were still being held after 10 p.m., and were expected to be completed after 11 p.m. The meet started with the finals of the medley relay teams, followed by the finals of the individual events and ending with the freestyle relay squads.
Throughout the summer, the Seals, Dolphins, Piranhas and the Tritons faced each other in dual swim meets prior to Thursday’s gathering at the Tokay pool. Some of the swimmers have moved on to swim competitively for the Lodi Swim Club.
