JCPen­ney look­ing to fill 350 sea­sonal po­si­tions in Sacra­mento area

SACRA­MENTO — Texas-based JCPen­ney says it will hire 350 hol­i­day sea­son work­ers for its Sacra­mento-area op­er­a­tions.

The planned lo­cal hires are part of a statewide ef­fort to hire more than 5,000 sea­sonal em­ploy­ees at stores through­out Cal­i­for­nia.

The re­tailer said it hopes to fill nearly 40,000 sea­sonal po­si­tions at 875 stores na­tion­wide dur­ing its “Na­tional Hir­ing Day” next Tues­day. Hir­ing Day ac­tiv­i­ties in­clude in-per­son in­ter­views from 2 to 8 p.m. at all JCPen­ney stores.

Avail­able cus­tomer ser­vice and sup­port po­si­tions in­clude cashiers, re­plen­ish­ment spe­cial­ists and beauty con­sul­tants. Sea­sonal work­ers are el­i­gi­ble for mer­chan­dise dis­counts of up to 25 per­cent.
