Lodi po­lice make un­re­lated nar­cotics and firearms ar­rests

LODI — Of­fi­cers from the Lodi Po­lice Depart­ment’s Special In­ves­ti­ga­tions Unit searched a res­i­dence on the 2400 block of San Martino Way at 11:19 a.m. Thurs­day af­ter re­ceiv­ing tips that a res­i­dent was sell­ing nar­cotics, ac­cord­ing to Sgt. Steve May­nard.

Ap­prox­i­mately one pound of metham­phetamine and more than $6,000 were seized dur­ing the search, and Joseph Hil­lard was ar­rested on sus­pi­cion of drug charges.

In an un­re­lated case, the Special In­ves­ti­ga­tions Unit also con­ducted sur­veil­lance at ap­prox­i­mately noon on Fri­day, lo­cat­ing Ri­cardo Ri­vas, 30, of Lodi at his res­i­dence on the 1200 block of South Hutchins Street, where a firearm and am­mu­ni­tion were found dur­ing a search, po­lice said.

Ri­vas was ul­ti­mately ar­rested on sus­pi­cion of armed rob­bery that took place on Nov. 2, mak­ing ter­ror­ist threats and as­sault, as well as var­i­ous firearms and am­mu­ni­tion charges.
