Lodi police make unrelated narcotics and firearms arrests
LODI — Officers from the Lodi Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit searched a residence on the 2400 block of San Martino Way at 11:19 a.m. Thursday after receiving tips that a resident was selling narcotics, according to Sgt. Steve Maynard.
Approximately one pound of methamphetamine and more than $6,000 were seized during the search, and Joseph Hillard was arrested on suspicion of drug charges.
In an unrelated case, the Special Investigations Unit also conducted surveillance at approximately noon on Friday, locating Ricardo Rivas, 30, of Lodi at his residence on the 1200 block of South Hutchins Street, where a firearm and ammunition were found during a search, police said.
Rivas was ultimately arrested on suspicion of armed robbery that took place on Nov. 2, making terrorist threats and assault, as well as various firearms and ammunition charges.
