“If anything, it’s keeping the temperature down, which is good for the crops,” Pelican said.

Acampo-based cattle rancher James Silva of Silva Bros. Dairy said that much like gardens and farms in the county, his cattle have also not seen any negative affects from the smoke.

“The smoke is definitely not a good thing, but it helps block some of the sun and keep temperatures down a little bit,” Silva said.
