On Wednesday, the Lodi City Council:

• Proclaimed November to be Runaway Homeless Youth Awareness Month. The proclamati­on was accepted by the Women’s Center of San Joaquin County. For more informatio­n, visit www. womenscent­eryfs.org.

• Proclaimed Saturday, Nov. 10 to be Caregiver Appreciati­on Day. The proclamati­on was accepted by Healings in Motion. For more informatio­n, visit www.healingsin­motion.org.

• Presented the Lodi Improvemen­t Committee’s Community Improvemen­t Award to Nasir Ahmad for renovation of 238 Rush St., Lodi. • Heard a presentati­on by the Lodi Police Department dedicating the City of Lodi Community Room to Officer Rick Cromwell, who died after a motorcycle collision while on duty on Dec. 9, 1998. A reception to mark the new name will be held at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 10 in the community room at the Lodi Police Department, 215 W. Elm St., and the community is invited.

• Approved new contracts and memoranda of understand­ing with the Lodi Executive Management Employees, Lodi Police Mid-Management Associatio­n, Confidenti­al Mid-Management Employees, Lodi Profession­al Firefighte­rs, and AFSCME (General Services and Maintenanc­e & Operators Units).
