Grace your log home’s grounds with a gorgeous garden tower you can build yourself!

If you’re looking to add an eyeI catching focal point to your outdoor living space this spring, then this garden tower is sure to fit the bill. Made from inexpensive, durable and great-looking dimensional cedar boards, the design is guaranteed to gain the attention of your friends and neighbors.

At first glance, this “yard art” is reminiscent of a famous, much larger structure that belongs to our French friends across the pond. Though its design shares a few similarities with that tower in Paris, it won’t take nearly as long to build (thankfully). The handy woodworker should be able to handle this one over the course of a few weekends.

That’s not to say this project isn’t a bit challenging, however. One look at all those angles, and you may wonder if you can handle it. But don’t worry, you won’t have to brush up on your geometry before you begin. The editors of Woodsmith, our sister publication and project partner, have come up with a “cut to fit” method of building the tower that simplifies things a lot. We’ll show you the highlights of the project here, then direct you where you can go to download the complete set of plans (including easy-to-follow tips and templates) for FREE!

So give this month’s project a try. Grace your log home’s landscape with “The Garden Tower.”
