Los Angeles Confidential was a media sponsor for the annual AFI Fest, which took over Hollywood to celebrate more than 100 films (features and shorts) from 46 countries. Each year, AFI, presented by Audi, jumpstarts awards season madness by touting the year’s most culturally and artistically significant films. The week-long event, recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences as a qualifying festival for both of the Oscars’ Short Film categories, featured screenings (and even first runs) of some of the year’s most lauded productions, including Moonlight,
La La Land, and Manchester by the Sea. Also staged were tributes to Annette Bening and Isabelle Huppert and an Indie Contenders Roundtable with panelists Kate Beckinsale, Sally Field, Viggo Morensen, and more.
