Spurs knock out the Suns

Bowen shuts down Nash and Gi­no­bili and Parker star on of­fense to lead San An­to­nio, 114-106.

SAN AN­TO­NIO — The Phoenix Suns’ Steve Nash drib­bled aim­lessly in the fi­nal sec­onds of the fi­nal game of his team’s West­ern Con­fer­ence semi­fi­nals se­ries Fri­day night, San An­to­nio’s Bruce Bowen in his face where he had been most of the night, vic­tory out of reach.

When the buzzer sounded at AT&T Cen­ter, giv­ing the Spurs a 114-106 win and a 4-2 vic­tory in the best-of-seven se­ries, the two em­braced and went their sep­a­rate ways, Nash back home to ponder yet an­other lost op­por­tu­nity, Bowen and his team­mates on to the next round to face the Utah Jazz in the con­fer­ence fi­nals be­gin­ning Sun­day.
