Hire the posse
HERE is my message to George Lopez: Stop encouraging the racial divide, have pride and be happy that your show lasted five years, far longer than most.
If, in these frantic times of political correctness and hypersensitivity to race, a trailblazing Latino-led series is canceled by a major network, it’s not about where you’re from, it’s the diminishing profit margin. People were no longer that interested in your show.
I’D like to suggest that you replace your current movie reviewers with the Summer Movie Posse [“A Very Tough Crowd,” by Patrick Goldstein, May 11]. Not only are Clara, Milena, Simona, Adam, Ryan and Tristan pithier, more in tune with the audience and far less pretentious than your regulars, but, keeping in mind the newspaper’s financial woes, I bet they’d work a lot cheaper.
