An­other touch­down for NBC

In the last week be­fore the of­fi­cial start of the fall TV sea­son, NBC once more rode high on pro foot­ball.

Sun­day’s NFL Colts-Giants matchup — fea­tur­ing a brother-ver­sus-brother con­test be­tween quar­ter­backs Eli and Pey­ton Man­ning — scored 23.1 mil­lion view­ers, mak­ing it the most-watched prime-time pro­gram for the week, ac­cord­ing to fig­ures re­leased Tues­day by the Nielsen Co.

Wed­nes­day’s sea­son fi­nale of “Amer­ica’s Got Tal­ent” also de­liv­ered for NBC, with 16.4 mil­lion view­ers and the No. 3 slot.

A trickle of pre­mieres also en­livened the week, in­clud­ing a spe­cial Wed­nes­day broad­cast of NBC’s new Jimmy Smits court­room drama, “Out­law” (10.7 mil­lion), be­fore it set­tled into its reg­u­lar Fri­day slot.

Over­all, NBC won the week with an 8.9 mil­lion av­er­age, trailed by CBS, ABC and Fox.
