Gover­nor has surgery af­ter fall

Gov. Jim Gib­bons was in fair con­di­tion af­ter surgery to re­pair his pelvis, which he broke when he was bucked off a horse.

The gover­nor’s pelvis was bro­ken in sev­eral places, re­quir­ing about two hours of surgery at Renown Re­gional Med­i­cal Cen­ter in Reno, said Daniel Burns, Gib­bons’ com­mu­ni­ca­tions di­rec­tor. Gib­bons, 65, will be hos­pi­tal­ized at least un­til Fri­day but was ex­pected to make a full re­cov­ery, Burns said.
