Towers need a good home
Regarding “Watts Towers Hit Snag,” by Mike Boehm, Sept. 10: I can understand the L.A. County Museum of Art’s reticence to accept the Watts Towers as they stand. The neglect for 30 years by the city of Los Angeles is not worth the chance. With maybe 500,000 square feet of surfaces to inspect for cracks, LACMA may not be able to take on the Towers for months.
But the switch from the city to LACMA will be a godsend if it happens.
