at No. 13 Utah 56, San Jose State 3: Jor­dan Wynn threw for two touch­downs in his first game since the sea­son opener and eight play­ers scored for the Utes (4-0) in a rout of the Spar­tans (1-3).

Wynn com­pleted 14 of 18 passes for 124 yards Satur­day be­fore head­ing back to the side­lines af­ter one se­ries in the third quar­ter with Utah (4-0) al­ready run­ning away with its 20th con­sec­u­tive home win. Wynn had missed the pre­vi­ous two games be­cause of a sprained right thumb.

The Utes blew open the game with four touch­downs in the sec­ond quar­ter, in­clud­ing a 10-yard re­turn on a botched punt that bounced off the San Jose State of­fen­sive line right to Reg­gie Topps to put Utah up 21-3.

San Jose State (1-3) had 70 yards of of­fense in the first half and fin­ished with 172 in the game.

Har­ri­son Waid scored the Spar­tans’ only points on a 20-yard field goal that pulled San Jose State within 7-3 in the first quar­ter.

The Spar­tans needed Bran­don Driver’s 71-yard kick­off re­turn to set up that score and never re­ally got close again as Utah scored the next seven touch­downs.

The blowout loss ended a rough month for San Jose State, which made los­ing trips to top-ranked Alabama and No. 11Wis­con­sin in the first two weeks of the sea­son.

The Spar­tans didn’t help them­selves much, ei­ther, with sev­eral mis­takes that led to a 27.4-yard punt­ing av­er­age.

Ne­vada 27, at Brigham Young 13: Colin Kaeper­nick threw for 196 yards and a touch­down and ran for 82 yards and an­other score as the Wolf Pack (4-0) con­tin­ued to build a case for be­ing ranked. Vai Taua added 133 yards rush­ing and a touch­down for Ne­vada, which is off to its best start since go­ing 12-0 to be­gin the 1991sea­son.

BYU (1-3) lost a third con­sec­u­tive game for the first time in six years.

Kaeper­nick led five scor­ing drives of nine plays or more. He threw a six-yard touch­down to Court­ney Randall on the game’s first pos­ses­sion and added a four-yard scor­ing run in the sec­ond quar­ter that gave the Wolf Pack a 21-7 lead.

at Colorado State 36, Idaho 34: Ben De­Line kicked a 35-yard field goal as time ex­pired, Pete Thomas and Ray­mond Carter each had three touch­downs as the Rams (1-3) ended a 12-game los­ing streak. Idaho (2-2) led, 13-0, but Colorado State took a 14-13 lead with two quick touch­downs just be­fore half­time. at San Diego State 41, Utah State 7: Ryan Lind­ley threw for 362 yards and three touch­downs for the Aztecs. Vin­cent Brown, who sur­passed 2,000 ca­reer re­ceiv­ing yards, caught five passes for 177 yards and two touch­downs for San Jose State (3-1).
