Whit­tier wins in sixth over­time

Eric Cejudo’s 26-yard field goal in the sixth over­time gave Whit­tier Col­lege a 42-39 vic­tory over Puget Sound on Satur­day in a Di­vi­sion III foot­ball game in Ta­coma, Wash.

Whit­tier over­came seven turnovers, in­clud­ing six in­ter­cep­tions, to even its record at 1-1. Puget Sound (1-2) had five turnovers, in­clud­ing four in­ter­cep­tions.

Whit­tier run­ning back Kim­ble Till­man rushed for 238 yards and three touch­downs in 23 car­ries. He ac­counted for 321 all-pur­pose yards, adding 33 yards on two pass re­cep­tions and 50 yards on two kick­off re­turns.

Puget Sound quar­ter­back Dun­can White had four passes in­ter­cepted, but he al­so­com­pleted 25 of 64 passes for 273 yards and four touch­downs.

The teams com­bined to run 211 plays and gain 933 yards.
