NuVa­sive says its CEO re­signed

Spinal de­vice maker NuVa­sive says Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Alex Lukianov re­signed af­ter the board con­cluded he didn’t fol­low ex­pense re­im­burse­ment and per­son­nel poli­cies.

NuVa­sive says Lukianov re­signed Satur­day af­ter an in­ves­ti­ga­tion by the board of di­rec­tors. The com­pany, which makes prod­ucts used in min­i­mally in­va­sive spine surg­eries, said that Lukianov didn’t live up to its stan­dards but that the amounts in­volved don’t ap­pear to be large enough to af­fect its fi­nan­cial re­sults.

The San Diego-based com­pany said it couldn’t pro­vide more de­tails about the scope of Lukianov’s vi­o­la­tions of its poli­cies.
