Allen Ginsburg’s “Howl” A range of musicians — Nick Cave, Devendra Banhart, Courtney Love and Macy Gray among them — pay homage to Ginsburg’s landmark Beat poem with live performances that will underscore the vast, radical cultural impact of the text. The nonmusical lineup is impressive as well — Tim Robbins, Amy Poehler and Will Forte will join them.(A.B.) Theatre at the Ace, 929 Broadway Ave., L.A. 7:30 p.m. Tue. $45-$125. acehotel.com.

Ariana Grande In-your-face production. Cameos from high-profile rappers. A lead single about how, lingering attraction (and proper grammar) be damned, she’d have “one less problem without you.” There’s lots of newfound swagger on Ariana Grande’s “My Everything,,” just less than a year after her successful 2013 debut, “Yours Truly.” Grande’s second disc keeps offering up delights, from the implied raunch of the looped saxophone lick in “Problem” to the surging dance beats of “One Last Time” and “Break Free” to “Love Me Harder,” a darker (and more fully realized) R&B jam than anyone probably expected from a 21-year-old singer once known for her endless supply of pastel princess dresses. (M.W.) The Forum, 3900 W. Manchester Blvd., Inglewood.. 7:30 p.m. Wed.. $29.50-$69.50. ticketmaster.com.

Shamir The R&B-dance singer, whose distinctive countertenor is garnering him music blog buzz, churned out one of the YouTube Music Awards’ standouts with the Muppetinspired visual for his infectious “Call It Off.” His debut album, “Ratchet,” on the esteemed XL Records, is one of the year’s most anticipated debuts. tival Coachella has gone classic rock. No-frills hard rock band AC/DC will anchor the first night of the three-day Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the annual party in the desert city of Indio that’s held over two consecutive weekends each April. The festival, long known for its marriage of dance and independent music, will then put away the devil horns for its second and third nights, as promoters Goldenvoice have tapped bluesy rocker Jack White and earnest rapper Drake as fellow headliners.
