If you’re trav­el­ing with your pooch, here’s news you can use: Port­land, Ore., leads the pack with the great­est num­ber of dog parks per capita in the U.S. Hen­der­son, Nev., and nearby Las Ve­gas were Nos. 4 and 5, re­spec­tively, and San Fran­cisco (No. 7) also made the top 10. The rest of the list (and rank): Nor­folk, Va. (2); Madi­son, Wis. (3); Ar­ling­ton, Va. (6); Tampa, Fla. (8); St. Peters­burg, Fla. (9); and Jer­sey City, N.J. (10). Dur­ing the last five years, the num­ber of dog parks in the U.S. in­creased 20%, ac­cord­ing to the Trust for Public Land City Park Facts re­port.
