Korean War vets are overlooked

Re “Service disconnect,” May 30

Los Angeles Times - - OPINION -

I too am a Korean War veteran and would like to thank reader Frank Seiden for writing on behalf of my fellow veterans from that war.

Recently, I attended a service on Memorial Day where a speaker quoted the theme “lest we forget” and proceeded to mention World War II and the wars in Vietnam and Afghanistan. I immediately felt a sting, as surely other veterans did, for the sacrifice of the more than 30,000 Americans who gave their lives fighting the Korean War.

Mr. Seiden, you said it all: It’s the forgotten war.
