Janet Jackson back in play
After seven years, Janet Jackson has a new album — and a new means to release it. Jackson confirmed Wednesday that the as-yet untitled album will come out this fall via BMG. It will be her first LP since 2008’s “Discipline.”
The record comes alongside news of Jackson forming a new label, Rhythm Nation, that will partner with BMG in a “label services” deal that will allow for independent distribution and increased control over copyright ownership and expenses. The move is a departure from her longtime home at Atlantic.
