Los Angeles County counts homeless

More than 5,000 volunteers fanned out across Los Angeles County in January to count the homeless. The dots, randomly distributed within each of the 1,684 census tracts counted, show 10,969 individuals, 6,047 cars, campers and vans, and 3,488 tents or makeshift shelters recorded by the volunteers.
