Out­fest an­nounces lineup

Six fea­ture films are set to make their world pre­mieres at this year’s Out­fest Los An­ge­les LGBT Film Fes­ti­val, which also will in­clude sneak peeks at fall TV shows, an evening with mu­si­cian and ac­tor Nick Jonas and a 20th-an­niver­sary screen­ing of “Vel­vet Gold­mine.”

Or­ga­niz­ers on Thurs­day an­nounced the full lineup for the event, tak­ing place July 9-19 at venues across Los An­ge­les. In all, the fest in­cludes 166 fea­ture films, 28 of which are from first-time film­mak­ers. Oth­ers are from Out­fest alumni, such as Jef­frey Sch­warz (“Tab Hunter Con­fi­den­tial”), Jamie Bab­bit (“Fresno”), Se­bas­tian Silva (“Nasty Baby”), Mal­colm In­gram (“Out to Win”), Jenni Olson (“The Royal Road”) and Parvez Sharma (“A Sin­ner in Mecca”).

Fes­ti­val at­ten­dees can catch early glimpses of IFC’s com­edy se­ries “Doc­u­men­tary Now!” as well as TLC’s re­al­ity show “I Am Jazz” and the sec­ond sea­son of DirecTV’s drama “King­dom,” in which Jonas plays a gay MMA fighter. Jonas will par­tic­i­pate in a dis­cus­sion with cre­ator and showrun­ner By­ron Balasco af­ter the screen­ing. As pre­vi­ously an­nounced, the fes­ti­val will open with “Tig” and close with “The New Girl­friend.”
