Man sen­tenced in pas­tor’s killing

A gang mem­ber con­victed in the mur­der of a Venice youth pas­tor has been sen­tenced to 58 years to life in pri­son.

Kevin Dwayne Green, 31, was sen­tenced Fri­day in the shoot­ing death of 23-yearold Os­car Dun­can.

Pros­e­cu­tors say Dun­can was re­turn­ing home with his fi­ancee in June 2012 when some­one in a ve­hi­cle made lewd com­ments. When Dun­can ap­proached the ve­hi­cle, he was shot once in the face af­ter the oc­cu­pants shouted the name of a gang.

Hopeton Pars­ley, 25, was also found guilty in the mur­der. He was sen­tenced to 90 years to life in pri­son.

A third de­fen­dant pleaded not guilty to one count of vol­un­tary man­slaugh­ter.
