Man sentenced in pastor’s killing
A gang member convicted in the murder of a Venice youth pastor has been sentenced to 58 years to life in prison.
Kevin Dwayne Green, 31, was sentenced Friday in the shooting death of 23-yearold Oscar Duncan.
Prosecutors say Duncan was returning home with his fiancee in June 2012 when someone in a vehicle made lewd comments. When Duncan approached the vehicle, he was shot once in the face after the occupants shouted the name of a gang.
Hopeton Parsley, 25, was also found guilty in the murder. He was sentenced to 90 years to life in prison.
A third defendant pleaded not guilty to one count of voluntary manslaughter.
