Full reviews of these films have been posted online at latertainment/ movies/reviews: “Live From New York!”: Documentary about “Saturday Night Live” delivers humor and nostalgia but misses so much else. Verdict: Insubstantial. “Redeemer”: A Chilean vigilante metes justice with fists, knives, guns, broken bottles, baseball bats, combination pliers and boat propellers. “Unfortunately for English speakers,” reviewer Martin Tsai writes of the subtitled Spanish-language film, “nothing here is lost in translation. Everything is exactly as lame as it sounds.”

“Eli Roth Presents the Stranger”: Dull scenes and clunky dialogue bog down this vampire flick from the co-writer of Roth’s “The Green Inferno.” “Love at First Fight”: A French import with some pluses: strong leads, intriguing characters for a rom-com (including Madeline, who’s preparing for army boot camp). But, oh, the minuses: weird twists, somber turns and pacing problems. “The Cain Complex”: Michael Rechtshaffen’s review opens with, “It’s not every day you get to see a satanicrevenge home-invasion martial-arts thriller ...” and it’s all downhill from there. This “heavy-handed howler” is a “crass, cloven-hoofed ‘Home Alone’ ” whose director cast himself, his wife and his kids.
