Murdoch’s corporate family tree
Rupert Murdoch’s sons will soon have new roles at 21st Century Fox. James Murdoch will be chief executive, and Lachlan will be executive co-chairman.
Incoming CEO, 21st Century Fox
James, 42, was named Fox's co-chief operating officer last year after serving as a deputy. He had earlier been pilloried by members of the British Parliament and others for failing to manage News Corp.’s mushrooming phone-hacking debacle in Britain, but analysts say he rehabilitated his image.
Non-executive co-chairman, 21st Century Fox and News Corp.
Lachlan, 43, rejoined News Corp and 21st Century Fox last year as non-executive co-chairman and is expected to be elevated to executive co-chairman. He left the company a decade ago after feeling the sting of internal company politics and headed a TV venture in Australia.
Former chairman and CEO, Shine Limited
Elisabeth, 46, has not been involved in Fox company operations since last fall, when she stepped down from overseeing the television production company Shine, which she founded and sold to News Corp. in 2011 for $675 million. Earlier in her career, she owned TV stations in California.
RUPERT MURDOCH waged an unrelenting campaign to bring his elder son back into the corporate fold.
