Hurt: Two-time Oscar nominee John Hurt, 75, known to one generation of moviegoers as the Elephant Man and another as Ollivander of “Harry Potter,” said Tuesday that he has earlystage pancreatic cancer. The actor said he will keep working as he receives treatment.
Books: The longtime head of the organization that presents the National Book Awards will be stepping down in March. The National Book Foundation’s board of directors said Tuesday that it will begin the search to replace Harold Augenbraum, executive director since 2004.
