Guilty plea in theft of bit­coins

A for­mer Se­cret Ser­vice agent will plead guilty to charges con­nected with the theft of bit­coins dur­ing an in­ves­ti­ga­tion into online drug bazaar Silk Road, fed­eral pros­e­cu­tors said.

Shaun Bridges of Lau­rel, Md., was charged in March with steal­ing $820,000 worth of the vir­tual cur­rency af­ter author­i­ties said he ob­tained pass­words to the mul­ti­mil­lion-dol­lar mar­ket­place for illegal drugs.

“Mr. Bridges ac­cepts com­plete re­spon­si­bil­ity,” said his lawyer, Steve Levin. “He’s re­gret­ted his ac­tion from the start.”
