Ex­otic cars, clas­si­cal mu­si­cians play­ing in­stru­ments in black mini-dresses and food fromthe hottest restau­rants— these are among the trap­pings of bro­ker- and real es­tate agent-only events in the Los An­ge­les area when a lux­ury home comes on the­mar­ket. In this oc­ca­sional fea­ture, we’ll high­light open houses where the public can turn out for fun and fes­tiv­i­ties.

Mil­lard Place, 12 newly built con­do­mini­ums and a mod­ern sin­gle-fam­ily house in Al­tadena, is launch­ing its sales open­ing with multi-ven­dor pop-up stores where po­ten­tial buy­ers can shop for­more than a home.

Audis, Maser­atis, fur­ni­ture, linens, soaps, gourmet foods, Wil­liams-Sonoma cook­ware, cloth­ing, bi­cy­cles, jew­elry and orig­i­nal art­work will be for sale aswell as cock­tails. The party-like event takes place on Fa­ther’s Day and again on June 27 and 28.

The one-, two- and three-bed­room ur­banchic con­dos range in size from792 to 2,177 square feet and are priced from$449,000 to $875,000. The com­mu­nity, atop re­tail space at 1968N. Lake Ave., has subter­ranean park­ing, an el­e­va­tor, pri­vate stor­age rooms, se­cured ac­cess and a foun­tain and sit­ting area at the en­trance.

The ad­ja­cent con­tem­po­rary house has sweep­ing San Gabriel Moun­tain views and is priced at $1.225 mil­lion.

The 2,453-square-foot home fea­tures a great room with a fire­place, fam­ily and din­ing rooms, three bed­rooms and 2.5 bath­rooms. There’s a rooftop ter­race, a swimming pool with a spa and a two-car at­tached garage.
