Shop for more than a home

Exotic cars, classical musicians playing instrument­s in black mini-dresses and food fromthe hottest restaurant­s— these are among the trappings of broker- and real estate agent-only events in the Los Angeles area when a luxury home comes on themarket. In this occasional feature, we’ll highlight open houses where the public can turn out for fun and festivitie­s.

Millard Place, 12 newly built condominiu­ms and a modern single-family house in Altadena, is launching its sales opening with multi-vendor pop-up stores where potential buyers can shop formore than a home.

Audis, Maseratis, furniture, linens, soaps, gourmet foods, Williams-Sonoma cookware, clothing, bicycles, jewelry and original artwork will be for sale aswell as cocktails. The party-like event takes place on Father’s Day and again on June 27 and 28.

The one-, two- and three-bedroom urbanchic condos range in size from792 to 2,177 square feet and are priced from$449,000 to $875,000. The community, atop retail space at 1968N. Lake Ave., has subterrane­an parking, an elevator, private storage rooms, secured access and a fountain and sitting area at the entrance.

The adjacent contempora­ry house has sweeping San Gabriel Mountain views and is priced at $1.225 million.

The 2,453-square-foot home features a great room with a fireplace, family and dining rooms, three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. There’s a rooftop terrace, a swimming pool with a spa and a two-car attached garage.
