Legislators pull Rose resolution
Ohio lawmakers put off action on a resolution urging baseball’s commissioner to reinstate all- time hits leader Pete Rose and make the former Cincinnati Reds star eligible for the Hall of Fame. The measure was pulled from a legislative committee’s agenda a day after ESPN reported it obtained evidence Rose bet on Reds games in 1986, his last season as a player. Etc.
Atlanta put f irst baseman Freddie Freeman on the 15- day disabled list because of a bruised right wrist. . . . Texas activated third baseman Adrian Beltre, who missed 19 games because of a sprained left thumb. . . . Mets catcher Travis d’Arnaud went on the disabled list because of a hyperextended left elbow, his second DL stint this year. . . . Seattle right fielder Nelson Cruz was in the lineup Tuesday after leaving Monday’s game against Kansas City after his pelvic bone popped out of place.
