A FAB FIVE

A strong dollar and a huge amount of pent-up demand mean that Europe is hot, hot, hot for summer — and that those longed-for moments of solitude probably are not, not, not happening. Time, then, to consider wandering off the well-trod path to one or all five of these places: a resurgent seaside town in England; the breathtaking peaks of Slovakia; an oft-overlooked city in Portugal; the quirky nooks and crannies of Sweden’s coast; and the big surprise of tiny Luxembourg. Say so long to the throngs and hello to the delight of the destination different.
