SHOW OF SUPPORT
People demonstrate Tuesday in Guinea’s capital, where authorities said at least seven people had died during two days of violent protests in support of striking teachers. At least 30 people were also wounded, including police officers, the government said. Violent protests have rocked the city in the last few weeks, mainly by young people and students who support the teachers’ strike, which has shut down schools since the beginning of February. Teachers are demanding pay raises and better training.
